ONCE YOU’VE BOOKED IN

Once your appointment is confirmed, this is everything you’ll need to know before tattoo day.

A little preparation can make a big difference to how comfortable your session is and how well your tattoo goes, so please read through the information below before your appointment.

BEFORE YOUR APPOINTMENT

Get a good night’s sleep if you can, eat a proper meal before your appointment and drink plenty of water in the lead-up to your session. Avoid excessive alcohol the day before and do not arrive intoxicated or impaired by alcohol or recreational drugs. Avoid getting sunburnt, scratched or irritated in the area being tattooed. You do not need to shave the area beforehand unless I specifically ask you to.

WHAT TO WEAR

Wear clean, comfortable clothing that gives easy access to the area being tattooed. Tattoo ink, stencil products or other materials may occasionally get onto clothing, so avoid wearing anything you would be devastated to stain. For larger sessions, comfortable layers are a good idea as your body temperature can change during the day.

WHAT TO BRING

Bring valid identification. If you are 16 or 17, both you and your parent or legal guardian must provide valid identification and the required guardian consent must be completed. For longer sessions, feel free to bring snacks, drinks, headphones, a phone charger or anything else that helps you stay comfortable.

ARRIVING FOR YOUR APPOINTMENT

Please arrive at your booked appointment time rather than significantly early. Your booked time includes the tattoo process from start to finish, including final preparation, placement, stencil work and tattooing. We can take reasonable comfort breaks when needed during the session. For longer tattoo days, we may also take a 30-minute lunch break.

DESIGN & PLACEMENT

Your design is created specifically for your project after your booking and deposit have been confirmed. Some final adjustments to size, placement, flow or smaller design details may be made with you on the day so the tattoo works properly with your individual anatomy. For larger or more complex work, parts of the design may also be adapted or drawn directly onto the body to achieve the best fit and flow.

HEALTH & MEDICATION

If anything has changed since completing your booking form, including medication, health conditions, pregnancy, breastfeeding, illness, skin irritation or anything else that may affect tattooing or healing, please let me know before your appointment. If you are sick or have damaged, irritated, infected or sunburnt skin around the tattoo area, contact me before coming in. If you are unsure whether something matters, just ask.

PAYMENT

My standard tattoo rate is $200 per hour including GST unless we have agreed to another rate or project price. Any remaining balance is due on the day of your appointment. Your deposit is applied according to the booking terms agreed to when your booking was confirmed.

CHANGES OR RESCHEDULING

If you need to change your appointment, please give me as much notice as possible. At least 48 hours’ notice is required for your deposit to be transferred to a rescheduled appointment. Deposits are non-refundable.

ON THE DAY

You never need to sit silently through discomfort or uncertainty. If you need a break, feel unwell, have a concern about the design or placement, or simply need to ask something, tell me. The goal is to make something that works properly on your body and that we are both happy putting into the world permanently.

QUESTIONS?

If there’s anything you are unsure about before your appointment, get in touch. I would much rather answer a question beforehand than have you arrive worried about it.
